A talented Port Harcourt-based shoemaker, Akpaka NG, has boldly taken up a challenge posed by a Lagos shoemaker, Nelson, who recently went viral for declaring himself the best shoemaker in Nigeria.
Nelson, who gained widespread attention, posted a video displaying a stylish shoe he handcrafted, openly challenging any shoemaker in the country to replicate his design with equal or better craftsmanship.
Alongside the challenge, he sweetened the deal by attaching a ₦100,000 cash prize for anyone skilled enough to match his expertise and recreate the exact shoe.
In response to Nelson’s bold claim, Akpaka NG did not hesitate to put his own skills to the test. With precision and dedication, he meticulously crafted an identical version of Nelson’s shoe and documented the entire shoemaking process in a video, showcasing his attention to detail and commitment to quality.
While presenting his recreated shoe, Akpaka NG did not hold back in critiquing Nelson’s assertion of being the best in the industry. He argued that many highly skilled artisans, including himself, have long been making waves in the Nigerian shoemaking industry, contributing significantly to its growth and evolution.
