A Nigerian nurse has taken to social media to share a shocking and ‘unpleasant comment’ made by a man after he was informed that his wife was about to deliver their first child.
The nurse, identified as Idowu Olayinka, recounted the incident on her Facebook page, expressing her disbelief over the man’s reaction to the life-changing news.
According to Olayinka, the medical staff at the hospital where the woman was in labor called her husband to inform him that his wife was about to give birth. However, rather than showing excitement or concern, the man, who was reportedly drinking with his friends at a local spot, made an insensitive remark in response to the news.
He casually dismissed the situation, asking, “Ehn ehn, should I go and d!e because she is in labor? She should born wetin she wan born na.”
Shocked by the man’s words, the nurse took to Facebook to express her frustration and disappointment, writing:
The situation deeply affected the woman in labor, who broke down in tears upon hearing her husband's reaction. Despite the emotional distress, she successfully delivered her baby, but what followed was even more unexpected.
After safely giving birth, the woman wasted no time in making a life-altering decision. She immediately called her mother and declared that she was done with the marriage.
According to the nurse, the new mother revealed that this was not the first time her husband had mistreated her. She recalled a painful incident when he locked her out of their home while she was still pregnant, simply because she returned late from her shop.
[/p]Her family, recognizing the toxic environment she had been enduring, quickly stepped in to support her. Her brother, in particular, took action to ensure that her husband would not be allowed to take the baby away.
The story has since gone viral, with many social media users expressing their outrage over the man’s behavior and applauding the woman’s courage for standing up for herself and her child. The situation has sparked discussions on the importance of emotional support in marriages and the role of family in protecting loved ones from abusive relationships.
