A Nigerian man has taken to social media to express his shock and frustration after his mother’s ₦4,000 tithe was allegedly rejected by a church, with officials insisting that the minimum acceptable tithe must be at least ₦10,000.
The man shared the incident on X (formerly Twitter), stating that he had accompanied his mother to church when the surprising event occurred. According to him, after his mother offered ₦4,000 as her tithe, the church officials returned it and informed her that she needed to give at least ₦10,000 before it would be accepted.
Expressing his disbelief, he wrote: “My mum gave ₦4k for tithe yesterday during morning mass. They returned it to her and told her it was too small, that she should give ₦10k and above. Lmao, I didn’t even say a word. I just de laugh one side.”
