A Nigerian lady has stirred controversy on social media after sharing a post where she openly mocked “broke men” while celebrating the one-year anniversary of purchasing her ₦600,000 Firman generator.
The lady took to Facebook to recount her journey of acquiring the generator, emphasizing how it has made her life significantly easier. She contrasted her current luxurious lifestyle with the struggles of those who are financially less fortunate, particularly targeting men who she claims cannot afford such comforts.

In her post, she asserted that being in a relationship with a wealthy man offers unparalleled benefits, including financial security, stress-free living, and a higher quality of life. She described how her generator has provided her with constant electricity, enabling her to live comfortably without worrying about power outages.
She wrote:
“This year marks one year since I bought my big Firman generator. My old one lasted five years, making it two generators in my house now.”
“Life is so much easier—I always have 25 liters of fuel, and I never lack power supply. This is what happens when you marry a rich man. Your life becomes easy. You won’t age or get wrinkles before your time.”
She continued:
“Poor men with rusty iron tools don’t even know what a generator is, let alone having ₦600,000 to buy a bigger one. They’re still living with their girlfriends in someone else’s house or in a hot room. They’ll keep struggling until they suffer the consequences.”
Her post quickly gained traction, sparking heated debates in the comments section. Many social media users reacted to her remarks, some agreeing with her sentiments while others criticized her for her perceived arrogance and insensitivity.
See some reactions below:
Nwojo Okenwa: “You still have poor mentality. Big men don’t use generators these days; just go for solar. Generator is still a poor man’s thing, too noisy.”
Nwafor Chinonso Jude: “So having a generator is a measure of success? We have 4 Sumec big generators in my family house, and my junior brother is using one currently. You should be talking about buying land and building a house, not an ordinary generator.”
Anna Chinny: “Poor men, poor men—have you ever seen a generator in your life, talk more of using it? Where will they even get the money to buy one?”
Ruth Ogheneremu: “People still use generators? Hmm, solar is the new thing now—no noise, you can sleep peacefully.”
Chiagoziem Hamilton: “Tell your rich husband to install a solar energy system. That would save his precious time queuing for petrol. It will also save your environment from noise pollution and save the poor masses from noise too. But honestly, he made a financial mistake by buying that big generator. That model, Eco series, is not meant to be running for long. It’s made to run on market days only, and you shouldn’t load it more than 50% of its running capacity; otherwise, it will spoil within a month. Follow this advice and thank me later—with chilled water only.”
Juliet Omolegie: “This post didn’t call anyone’s name, yet someone will still take offense and write rubbish. When Cindy claps back, they will start shouting that she calls people out. If this post pains you, just walk away. It’s a new month, focus on minding your business.”
