A Nigerian lady has taken to social media to strongly criticize President Bola Tinubu and the pastors who supported his election, expressing deep frustration over the escalating cost of living following a recent trip to the market.
In a viral post on X (formerly Twitter), she lamented the high cost of essential goods, revealing that she went to the market with ₦46,000 but was only able to purchase a single tuber of yam and a plastic drum. Her post sparked widespread discussions online as many Nigerians shared similar experiences regarding inflation and economic hardship.
She wrote:
“This luxury 2-piece here? I got this wicked yam for ₦2,000, then this one for ₦39,000. The drum used to be ₦7,000–₦10,000. Transport fare is ₦5,000, and you say Tinubu and those pastors will be blessed?”
“It will never be well with any of them, including that one whose wife dresses like Goliath. This is what my ₦46,000 is worth.”
A video attached to her post showed the items she purchased, as she voiced her frustration over the significant increase in prices compared to previous years. Many Nigerians in the comment section resonated with her grievances, expressing concerns about the country’s economic situation and blaming government policies for the hardship.
As the post gained traction online, social media users flooded the comment section with their opinions and personal experiences.

As discussions continue, the government is yet to respond to the growing concerns about inflation and worsening living conditions.
