A heartbroken Nigerian lady has recounted the tragic experience of losing her father due to the lack of available beds in a government hospital. She shared how the healthcare system’s failure led to her father’s untimely death.
According to her emotional account, her father was in critical condition and needed urgent medical attention. He was rushed to three different hospitals in an attempt to save his life, but he was repeatedly turned away due to inadequate medical facilities.
She revealed that the first hospital they arrived at refused to admit him, citing a lack of proper medical equipment to handle his condition. The second hospital, despite having the necessary equipment, declined to admit him because they had no available bed space.
Desperate and running out of time, she and her family tried to get him to a third hospital, but before they could reach their destination, tragedy struck. Her father passed away in the car, unable to receive the life-saving treatment he desperately needed.
In an emotional statement, the grieving lady expressed her anguish over the situation, blaming the country’s failing healthcare system for her father’s death. She lamented:
“Nigeria failed my father. I became fatherless because of Nigeria. My mother became husbandless because of Nigeria.”
