A female doctor has gone viral after sharing the unexpected messages she received from an elderly patient who took her phone number. The doctor’s revelation has sparked mixed reactions online.
According to the doctor, the elderly patient initially requested her phone number for emergencies. She explained that she does not usually give out her personal contact information to patients, but in this case, she made an exception because she was genuinely concerned about the elderly woman’s well-being.
The doctor wrote: “I never give out my direct line to patients, but I was so worried about her. Kumbe alikua amenimark 😂😭. Please stop making your parents worried.”
However, what happened next caught the doctor completely off guard. Instead of keeping the number for emergency purposes, the elderly patient decided to pass it on to her son in an attempt to set him up with the doctor. The son then reached out to the doctor with a surprising message.
The message read:
“Hey, doc. So apparently, you gave one of your patients your number, who happened to be my mum, and she really insisted that I should take you out for lunch. Believe me, I had no say in this, hehe. Kindly get back to me if you get time.”
The story quickly gained attention, and many social media users shared their own similar experiences. Some found the situation amusing, while others suggested precautions for doctors when giving out their personal numbers.
