A terrifying incident unfolded at a birthday party in a school hall when a group of armed men stormed the celebration, leaving two children injured. The attack took place at Elm Park Primary School in Havering, Essex, on the evening of March 23, turning what was supposed to be a joyous occasion into a scene of chaos and violence.
According to reports, the attackers were already inside the hall, blending in among approximately 50 guests who had gathered for the student’s birthday party. Witnesses stated that everything seemed normal until around 11 p.m. when the assailants suddenly struck, launching a brutal attack on some of the attendees.
During the attack, a 19-year-old male and a 16-year-old male sustained stab wounds. Emergency services were immediately called to the scene, and both victims were rushed to the hospital for medical attention. Fortunately, their injuries were later confirmed to be non-life-threatening. The two victims are currently recovering and cooperating with police investigations.
In addition to the injured partygoers, responding officers from the Metropolitan Police were also assaulted during the violent outbreak. However, they did not require hospitalization, as they were treated on-site by paramedics from the London Ambulance Service. The situation quickly escalated as authorities attempted to restore order while ensuring the safety of other guests present at the event.
Three teenagers were arrested in connection to the attack. They were taken to a police station in East London, where they were detained for questioning. Authorities have confirmed that they have since been bailed and are expected to return for further questioning as the investigation progresses.
Further details emerged from a distressed parent whose daughter attended the party. She revealed that after the attack, the situation spiraled out of control, with more violent clashes occurring outside the venue. She stated that as her daughter attempted to escape, she found that the fire exit was inaccessible, making it even more difficult for guests to flee the chaos. Eventually, she managed to leave the premises and boarded a train—only for the violence to continue onboard.
“As she ran scared from the event, she told me the fire exit wasn’t accessible and that as she got on the train, other youths followed and more fighting began,” the worried parent recounted.
“My daughter was attacked on the train, and more fights took place. It was awful.”
A spokesperson for the Metropolitan Police provided further details on the incident, stating: “Police were called shortly after 9 p.m. on Saturday, March 22, to reports of a fight involving a group on Calbourne Avenue.”
“Officers attended the scene and engaged with several teenagers who became aggressive toward them.”
“Three teenagers were arrested at the scene on suspicion of assault on emergency workers. They were taken to an East London police station and were later bailed to return for questioning.”
“The officers were treated at the scene by London Ambulance Service medics and did not require hospital treatment.”
“Separately, two individuals, including a 16-year-old male and a 19-year-old male, sustained suspected knife injuries and were taken to the hospital, where their injuries were deemed neither life-changing nor life-threatening. They continue to assist police with their inquiries.”
Authorities have launched a full-scale investigation into the incident, with police working diligently to uncover the circumstances surrounding the attack. The violent outbreak has left the local community deeply concerned, with residents calling for increased security measures to prevent such incidents from happening again.
The police are urging anyone with information regarding the incident to come forward and assist with their investigation. Law enforcement officials have assured the public that they are committed to ensuring justice for the victims and preventing further violence in the community.
