Shamsudeen Bala Mohammed, the son of Bauchi State Governor Bala Mohammed, has publicly called on Seyi Tinubu to focus on creating sustainable employment opportunities for the youth rather than providing short-term handouts.
In a recent Facebook post, Shamsudeen Bala Mohammed urged Seyi Tinubu to make his upcoming visit to the Renewed Hope Youth Engagement (RHYE) initiative impactful by implementing programs that would provide long-term benefits for young people in Bauchi State.
He emphasized the importance of youth empowerment through employment opportunities, financial support for entrepreneurs, and infrastructural development in the Information and Communication Technology (ICT) sector. He further recommended training programs in cryptocurrency trading and other digital skills to equip young people with sustainable means of earning a living.
Shamsudeen expressed concerns that the youths of Bauchi do not need temporary aid such as food items and bags of rice distributed in Ramadan but instead require lasting economic solutions that will enable them to be self-sufficient. He highlighted the importance of teaching young people how to fish rather than giving them fish for a single day, stressing that they are not beggars.
He wrote in his post;
“Dear King of Boys AKA Seyi Tinubu, Please when coming to Bauchi for the #RHYE, empower our youths with employment, Keke Napep, financial support to start businesses, ICT infrastructure, and training for crypto trading. The youth of Bauchi do not need rice and food in nylon bags during Ramadan. Instead, teach them how to fish rather than feeding them for a single day. They are not beggars. Thank you, our King of Boys AKA Seyi Tinubu. In the hopes that you’d listen to our plights as the representative of the Concerned Youths of Bauchi.”
