Senator Natasha Akpoti-Uduaghan has strongly denied allegations that she received ₦500 million from Senate President Godswill Akpabio, dismissing the claims as baseless and politically motivated.
The Senator, who represents Kogi Central under the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), addressed the reports circulating on social media, stating that the accusations were fabricated attempts to tarnish her reputation.
In an official statement, Natasha Akpoti-Uduaghan made it clear that she had never received such a sum from Akpabio and had never suggested otherwise. She emphasized that the claims were deliberate falsehoods intended to mislead the public and cause unnecessary controversy.
“Let me be clear: I have never received ₦500 million or any amount from Senator Akpabio. At no time did I make any statement suggesting such. This is nothing but a deliberate falsehood aimed at causing unnecessary controversy,” she declared in her statement.
Senator Natasha further reiterated that she has always maintained a high standard of integrity and would not engage in actions that could compromise her reputation.
“Falsehoods like this are unacceptable. My focus remains on serving my constituents with transparency and dedication, not engaging in baseless distractions.”
Her response comes amid increasing political tensions, with some speculating that the allegations were part of a broader campaign to undermine her credibility and distract from ongoing political issues.
