Atiku Abubakar, former vice president of Nigeria, has recounted a harrowing experience where he witnessed armed assailants holding his eldest son at gunpoint through his window. The incident occurred when his son, who had returned home from the UK for holidays, found himself in a life-threatening situation.
Atiku shared the chilling encounter during an exclusive interview on Untold Stories With Adesuwa, where he detailed how he bravely confronted the killers in an attempt to protect his son. According to him, he did not hesitate to step forward and offer himself in exchange for his child’s safety.
The former vice president revealed that he made a daring move by opening the window blinds from his upstairs room, only to see his son being held at gunpoint. Without hesitation, he took a bold step and confronted the armed men.
In his words: “When I opened the window blind from upstairs, I saw that they were holding my son at gunpoint, and I decided to dare them. So I came out and said, ‘Look, take my son back to his room, if you are looking for me, I am here.’ So they took him back.”
Fortunately, the situation took a turn when gunshots were heard outside the house, causing the attackers to panic and flee the scene.
Atiku’s revelation has sparked widespread reactions, with many commending his courage and the love he displayed for his son during such a terrifying moment.
