Former Vice President Atiku Abubakar has publicly accused the Senate President, Godswill Akpabio, of not only being corrupt but also engaging in the abuse of women.
Atiku made these allegations during an in-depth interview with renowned journalist Adesuwa Giwa-Osagie on the highly acclaimed program Untold Stories, where he discussed political leadership, governance, and corruption in Nigeria.
A short clip from the interview, which has rapidly gained traction on social media platforms, captures Atiku Abubakar candidly describing Senate President Akpabio as a leader with a history of corruption. According to the former vice president, Akpabio’s alleged misconduct dates back to his time as a governor, during which he was not only involved in corrupt activities but also had a disturbing pattern of abusing women.
“I was not surprised because I know the leadership is corrupt, and I do not apologize for saying this. They could do anything without accountability. The Senate President has a long-standing reputation for such behavior, which was evident even during his tenure as governor. He was deeply involved in corrupt practices at that time, and beyond that, he also had a habit of mistreating and abusing women.” Atiku revealed during the interview.
The allegations have since sparked intense discussions across various online platforms, with Nigerians sharing mixed reactions regarding Atiku’s statements. Some have expressed agreement, citing past controversies involving Akpabio, while others argue that the former vice president is making these claims for political reasons.
