Popular Nollywood actress Wunmi Toriola has publicly berated renowned YouTuber and food blogger Chef T, better known as Diary of a Kitchen Lover, for ignoring her DM and refusing to collaborate with her.
Taking to her Instagram story, Toriola recounted how she had reached out to the food influencer in August last year, requesting to feature in one of her cooking episodes as part of the promotional campaign for her cinema debut. However, she never received a response from Chef T, which left her feeling disappointed and ignored.
Sharing a screenshot of the unread message, Toriola expressed her frustration over being overlooked despite her admiration for the food blogger’s work.
The message she had originally sent read:
“Good morning sis. I have been a lover of your page for a while. I don’t know if any of your cooking episodes is coming soon. Would love to feature as my cinema debut is coming in September—me wearing a t-shirt of it while cooking on one of your episodes. I don’t know if and how it works with you.”
Expressing her disappointment, the actress criticized Chef T for feeling too big to collaborate, implying that the food blogger now distances herself from others after achieving success.
“Chef T @diaryofakitchenlover feels she doesn’t need anyone again. Na only she grow her grow. Shey na December me sef come out????” she wrote, suggesting that some influencers forget those who supported them before they became famous.
In another post, Toriola praised content creators and influencers who, despite their success, still maintain healthy collaborations and support others in the industry.
“Shout out to great people who have grown and still maintain healthy collaborations…” she added, acknowledging those who uplift others even after achieving fame.
While Chef T has yet to respond to the call-out, Toriola’s post has sparked widespread conversations online. Fans and social media users are now debating whether influencers and public figures should be obligated to respond to every collaboration request or if they have the right to be selective with whom they choose to work.
