Popular Nollywood actor, Uzor Arukwe, has opened up about his journey in the film industry, highlighting the pivotal role women have played in shaping his career and helping him reach new heights.
Uzor Arukwe has been trending for days as movie lovers and industry colleagues continue to applaud his remarkable performance in Omoni Oboli’s latest movie, “Love in Every Word.” His portrayal of a lead character in the film has further solidified his reputation as one of Nollywood’s most talented actors.
In an exclusive interview with Saturday Beats, the actor shared how women in the entertainment industry have supported and uplifted him, making it clear that he owes much of his success to their guidance and encouragement.
“I don’t think I would be here without the women,” Arukwe stated. “That’s why I have a lot of respect for the women in my life. They have been incredibly supportive, and I am grateful for everything they have done for me. Onyinye Udeze took a big chance on me at a crucial point in my career, and that decision opened so many doors for me. Similarly, Uduak Isong also took a chance on me, and I will never forget the impact she has had on my journey.”
He went on to acknowledge some of the women who have contributed to his rise in the industry, emphasizing that their encouragement and belief in his talent played a huge role in his growth.
“A lot of women have been very supportive throughout my career. They are the ones who have given me platforms to showcase my craft. That I am here today, I cannot deny the fact that women have been instrumental to my growth,” he added.
Beyond crediting women for his career development, Arukwe also spoke about his approach to acting, revealing how he refines his skills by watching a diverse range of performances.
“I watch a lot of movies. I enjoy acting alongside great Nigerian actors, and even some who are still growing in the craft. I’m not saying there are bad actors, but when I see poor acting, I take note of what not to do. Every performance teaches me something, whether good or bad, and that helps me improve my own craft,” he stated.
