Nigerian football star, Victor Boniface, has reacted after learning that a 15-year-old boy he gifted his boots following Nigeria’s match against Rwanda sold them for $100.
It would be recalled that the Nigerian national team played against Rwanda on the 21st of March 2025, securing a 2-0 victory.
After the match, Boniface generously handed over his boots to a young fan who had attended the game. The heartwarming gesture was initially celebrated by fans online.
However, a recent video surfaced showing the boy admitting that he sold the boots for $100 to a group of Rwandans who had bargained for them.
The teenager explained that he used the money to buy himself a bicycle, school bags, and a new school uniform, indicating that the funds had significantly improved his daily life.
Upon hearing this, Victor Boniface humorously reacted by asking netizens to help him locate the boy, joking that the boy should give him 10% of the money from the sale.
“Abeg make Una find this boy for me. Make he drop 10% of the money ooo,” he wrote in a playful tweet.
Reactions have followed …

But a wise decision would have been to take a picture with Boniface as he is giving you the boot, Keep the boot, and use it to make money in the future. Abi?”
@idjesanuvie said: “Don’t think it’s a poor decision at the time, he needed that money so bad and to him it was a good deal at the time. The only way he could have gotten more is if an adult brokered a deal for him.”
@johnjaydee4945 noted: “The Rwandan guy played a fast one on him. That boot is nothing less than 500 dollars for market normally.”
