In a recent interview with a content creator who approached him about the viral video, Sylvester Madu took the opportunity to clarify the situation. He emphasized that he is not involved in selling Okirika, as some may have assumed. According to the actor, the video was taken out of context and misunderstood. Madu explained that what he actually does is purchase products that are on "sales" in the United States, particularly discounted goods. He buys them at lower prices and then adds his own cost to sell them to Nigerians, thus helping to provide affordable items to people back home. He stressed that his business model is about sourcing quality products abroad, not about dealing with second-hand clothes like Okirika.

Reactions have followed the interview …

@Eghosa_Igbins said: “This presenter or whatever she is, she is bad at her job… your question should be objective, not subjective! You use 4 minutes trying to convince the person you’re interviewing that he is involved in Okirika. It simply means you came there to mock him, not to interview him. Baba even tried explaining himself several times; if it were me, after I’ve explained once and you keep forcing me to accept your assumptions, I’d simply walk out.”

@General_Somto wrote: “Nigerians are used to fake lifestyles and people showcasing their wealth online. That’s their definition of rich.”

@Mr_DaveChigozie said: “Is she using style to mock the man or is she actually doing an interview? She’s not okay.”

@DirectorYung remarked: “This feels more like an attack than an interview. The lady is rude and condescending.”

@73keys_ said: “The man got chills, I would have walked out long ago. By the way, this is an example of a man who simply doesn’t give a damn.”

The video interview has garnered significant attention on social media, with many viewers questioning the manner in which the interview was conducted. Some feel that the interviewer was more interested in mocking Madu than understanding his side of the story, while others empathize with the actor's stance and clarity in the matter.
