Popular Nigerian singer, Portable, has made a public U-turn and apologized to veteran Fuji musician, Saheed Osupa, after initially mocking him over the removal of his song from streaming platforms due to alleged copyright infringement.
Portable had previously used a line from Osupa’s song, which prompted the Fuji legend and his distribution team to file a complaint. As a result, the track was taken down from major streaming platforms such as Spotify and Apple Music.
Following the takedown, Portable reacted in anger, expressing his displeasure and making derogatory comments about Saheed Osupa. However, in a recent video posted on his official Instagram page, he expressed regret for his outburst, admitting that he had acted out of hot temper and frustration.
In his apology, he pleaded with fans and well-wishers to help him seek forgiveness from Saheed Osupa, acknowledging that money played a role in his reaction.
“My fans, I am a hot-tempered person, I have said my mind, and it has ended. King Saheed Osupa, please forgive me. Money was what almost caused the misunderstanding because I wanted to collect the money, and then I heard the song had been removed. That was why I reacted angrily. Please forgive me. Help me beg him, my fans,” Portable stated in his video plea.
This public apology comes after many fans criticized his initial reaction, urging him to show respect to music legends like Saheed Osupa.
