Nigerian singer and songwriter, Teni Makanaki, has schooled popular TikTok influencer Habeeb Hamzat Adelaja, better known as Peller, on the realities of reproductive health following his controversial comments on women’s ability to conceive at a certain age.

During a recent TikTok livestream, Peller posed a question to Teni, inquiring why she had no children despite her age. He went further to assert that women lose their ability to conceive once they reach their 40s, sparking reactions online.

His statement did not sit well with the ‘Billionaire’ crooner, who wasted no time in correcting his misinformation. She educated him on modern medical advancements, particularly the role of egg freezing and in-vitro fertilization (IVF), in enabling women to have children at a later stage in life.

Teni, visibly irritated by Peller’s remarks, did not hold back in her response. She bluntly questioned his level of education, stating that his assertions reflected a deep lack of knowledge about female reproductive health.

In her words: “Are you educated at all? Are you in tune with science? Do you even know about freezing your eggs? You sound like an illiterate, and I need to educate you.”

She went on to emphasize that having children is not solely about financial stability or the ability to hire nannies. Instead, she stressed the importance of emotional readiness, mental preparedness, and the ability to provide genuine love and care for a child before deciding to have one.

The singer also warned against spreading misinformation about women’s biological timelines, urging men to educate themselves on reproductive health before making uninformed statements.

As Teni schooled him, Peller appeared visibly stunned, his mouth left agape in apparent shock. He later responded by asking if the singer had planned to insult him all along.
