Nigerian rapper Tochukwu Gbubemi Ojogwu, popularly known as Odumodublvck, has made a public appeal to 2023 Labour Party presidential candidate Peter Obi, urging him to reciprocate the support he received during the last general elections.
The Abuja-born artiste took to his official X handle on Thursday, April 3, to express his disappointment over Obi’s silence regarding his new album release, titled “The Machine Is Coming.”
Odumodublvck voiced his frustration, stating that he had supported the politician with “sweat and blood” and now expects the same level of energy and enthusiasm in return for his latest music project.
In his initial post, the rapper directly addressed Peter Obi, calling on him to promote his highly anticipated album.
“@PeterObi hello Mr Peter Obi. I support you that year. Oya support me now. Oya do video dey talk The Machine is coming. Abeg. Me and you never ever get problem before. Make e no start now.”
Moments later, Odumodublvck followed up with a more forceful statement, making his feelings on the matter even more evident:
“The time wey I support Peter Obi na with sweat and blood. If he cannot give me a ‘common’ tweet, then me and am go fight. I no dey hide my mouth. Make una dey talk una own. The Machine is coming.”
Odumodublvck reminds Peter Obi of beef with Tinubu
Odumodublvck was one of the most outspoken figures in Nigeria’s entertainment industry advocating for Peter Obi’s presidential bid in 2023. He went as far as referencing his hope for Obi’s victory in the NATIVE Sound System single “Vex,” which was released on March 2, 2023.
Additionally, the rapper declined an offer to perform at Bola Tinubu’s inauguration in May 2023, explaining that “they did not do their research.”
While calling on Peter Obi for his support, the singer reminded him of his past confrontations with the current president, Bola Tinubu.
“@PeterObi I even dissed Tinubu for you. Now because of you, the people are spitting on me and my legacy. Tweet The Machine is coming to rekindle and redeem our friendship, sir. Do not listen to them. Listen to your heart. The Machine is coming,” he noted.
In yet another post on X, Odumodublvck further intensified his statements, warning of potential consequences should Peter Obi refuse to acknowledge his new album.
“On today’s episode of Wage War – the people of Peter Obi vs the Industry Machine. Go and ask around, I have never lost a war. Peter Obi has lost an election. There is only one winner here. Tell that man to promote my album or else I will cut ties with him with immediate effect.”
As of the time of reporting, Peter Obi has not responded to the rapper’s demands.
