A popular luxury detective page, T20Luxury, has sparked controversy by calling out Nollywood actress Mercy Aigbe for allegedly showcasing a fake designer handbag in a recent social media post.
The incident began when Mercy Aigbe shared a photo of herself flaunting a designer handbag, which quickly caught the attention of T20Luxury. The page, known for scrutinizing celebrities' fashion choices and exposing counterfeit luxury items, accused the actress of carrying a fake Louis Vuitton Capucines bag.

Beyond just the handbag, T20Luxury also questioned the authenticity of Mercy Aigbe’s eyewear, further implying that her overall look might not be as luxurious as portrayed.
The page shared a statement, urging Mercy Aigbe and other celebrities to be cautious when selecting fashion items, particularly as influential figures in the entertainment industry.
They wrote:
“Dear Mercy Aigbe, this is NOT a genuine LV Capucines. Even the authenticity of the eyewear is questionable.
“We recognize that, as a celebrity, you may depend on the expertise of a stylist or personal shopper to curate your wardrobe and accessories. However, we trust that you understand the negative impact of counterfeit goods on creativity, particularly given your influential role within the creative industry. We encourage you to conduct due diligence when hiring a stylist.”
