Kosoko went on to express his concern about how real-life incidents like this, if adapted into movies, could inspire certain individuals to imitate them rather than view them as cautionary tales.

He explained that some people might attempt to replicate such acts, knowing that certain masquerades, particularly those from the Ekun lineage, are often regarded as untouchable in some cultural settings. This perception could embolden them to exploit the masquerade's status to commit similar acts without fear of consequences.

In the words of Kosoko: “I have personally witnessed an Egungun (masquerade), a person from Ekun, sneak into the house of another man to have an affair with his wife. This is not something I heard about—it is something I witnessed firsthand in the past. In fact, I was the one who mediated and found a solution to the conflict between the parties involved. The question now is, can such an event be depicted in a film? If it is shown in a movie, some people might see it as a new idea and attempt to replicate it in real life. They could justify their actions by saying, ‘Since nobody questions an Ekun masquerade, I can get away with this.’”

Kosoko’s revelation sheds light on some of the lesser-known controversial activities that can take place under the guise of cultural or traditional beliefs. His remarks serve as a warning about how society should carefully navigate the balance between preserving cultural heritage and preventing its exploitation for immoral or unethical acts.
