Renowned Nigerian media personality, Ifedayo Olarinde, widely recognized as Daddy Freeze, has expressed a renewed sense of optimism regarding the administration of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and the direction Nigeria is heading.
During a recent interview on Nigeria Info FM, Lagos, Daddy Freeze admitted that he was initially skeptical about Tinubu’s leadership and policies. However, after closely observing the president’s approach to governance, particularly in sectors like electricity and economic reforms, he now believes that the country is on a hopeful path.
“With President Bola Tinubu, I don’t think Nigeria is in trouble. I was scared initially, but I’m seeing the work he is doing in the power sector,” he remarked, highlighting specific efforts made by the government to address long-standing infrastructure and economic challenges.
Using a vivid analogy to describe the nation’s struggles, Daddy Freeze compared Nigeria to an overloaded tipper truck with a broken engine. He explained that just as a mechanic faces significant obstacles in fixing such a vehicle, any leader who steps in to govern Nigeria must deal with deeply entrenched issues before tangible progress can be seen.
He further appealed to Nigerians to exercise patience, emphasizing that quick fixes are unrealistic given the complexity of the country’s economic and structural problems. He stressed that meaningful change requires time, dedication, and strategic planning.
“I was worried initially, but with the way this regime has handled things up until now, I am leaning towards the fact that we finally have hope in this country,” he stated, reaffirming his growing confidence in the administration’s potential to bring about positive transformation.
