Socialite, Bobrisky, has become the latest victim of a romance scam after allegedly being defrauded of $990. The popular Nigerian influencer took to his Instagram page to expose the scam, sharing both the chat history and the photo of the man responsible for scamming him.
In his post, Bobrisky expressed his disbelief and frustration, revealing that he never imagined he would fall victim to such a scam. He recounted how the man had been reaching out to him for months, chatting regularly and attempting to get close to him. The scammer had even claimed to be living in the United States, which Bobrisky later learned was untrue.
The drama unfolded when Bobrisky explained that someone from the United States had contacted him about an advertisement and needed a CashApp account to make a deposit. Since he knew the man who had been messaging him, who had claimed to be living in the US and then moved to Canada, Bobrisky reached out to him for the CashApp details. The man agreed and provided his account information for the deposit.
However, after Bobrisky transferred the money, the scammer promptly blocked him and disappeared without a trace. Bobrisky shared his feelings on the situation, writing: “I never thought in my life I would be a client to anybody. This guy came to my DM, and we got talking close to a few months now. He calls me almost every day, and he said he lived in the USA but moved to Canada. A few weeks later, someone in the USA reached out for ads. She said she needed a CashApp to pay her deposit, and I asked this guy I’ve been talking to. He said he would give me his own. As soon as he got the money, he blocked me immediately.”
In his post, Bobrisky included a series of screenshots of the conversations he had with the scammer, revealing the detailed exchange that led to the money transfer.
