The rapper, recognized for his distinctive sound and bold personality, took to social media to reflect on his journey in the competitive music industry. He emphasized his unwavering belief in his relevance and staying power despite obstacles and criticism.

In a recent series of tweets, Blaqbonez shared a personal experience from 2017, recalling an incident involving an up-and-coming rapper who had just signed with Olamide’s YBNL Nation. According to him, this rapper used his name in a freestyle to ridicule his chances of ever making it big in the industry.

Although Blaqbonez did not disclose the name of the artist, social media users speculated that he was referring to Limerick, a former YBNL signee. The rapper expressed his disappointment over how quickly the unnamed artist turned against him after securing a record deal, choosing to mock him instead of supporting him.

He recalled how the rapper confidently dismissed his future in music, making derogatory remarks about his potential and talent. This experience, however, did not deter Blaqbonez. Instead, it fueled his determination to prove his worth and establish himself as one of the most consistent artists in the game.

In his tweets, Blaqbonez directly addressed the individual, saying:

“Because you got a deal before me, you added my name to your freestyles, saying ‘you no go ever blow like Blaqbonez.’ All because Olamide signed you, you thought he was God abi??”

He continued: “I pray you see these tweets and reflect on your life—at how quickly you were ready to sh*t on people. We were in rap battle groups together for years, but as soon as they signed you, it was time to disrespect me, my work ethic, and everything I stood for. You thought you could see into the future and determine that I would never blow up, right?”

Blaqbonez further emphasized his self-confidence and resilience, stating:

“Not every kind of talent can last for years, but I know who I am. I will be here for as long as I want to be. The music I make is unique, and nobody can replicate it. I have fans who have been with me since the very beginning—not just the ones who discovered me with ‘Bling’ or all that mainstream sh*t. The real ones know themselves.”

The rapper’s words have sparked conversations online, with many praising his consistency and perseverance in the industry. His ability to overcome negativity and push forward has solidified his place as one of Nigeria’s most resilient hip-hop artists.
